Daylian Cain

Speaker, Wholesale Trainer

Daylian Cain joined the faculty at the Yale School of Management from Harvard University’s economics department, where he was the Russell Sage Fellow of Behavioral Economics. A Canada Science Scholar, Cain has three master’s degrees and earned his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. Cain’s research—which focuses on decision making—combines behavioral economics and philosophy; for example, Cain is becoming a recognized expert on how people contemplate their conflicts of interest.

Cain’s research has been discussed in the New Yorker, Forbes, the Harvard Business Review, the Washington Post, Business Week, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal; on CNN Financial News; and in books such as Economics 2.0: What the Best Minds in Economics Can Teach You about Business and Life. An award-winning educator in both business and philosophy, Cain teaches graduate/executive-level courses on negotiation, and he is building a new Yale MBA course called “Business Ethics Meets Behavioral Economics.”
